M6 Player Privacy Policy

Effective date: 5 October 2026
App: M6 Player (Android, package com.msixv.com.m6player)
Publisher: Mukiria Six Ventures Limited

This policy covers the M6 Player app only. Where it differs from the general M6V Games Privacy Policy, this policy applies to M6 Player.

The short version

M6 Player plays the music and videos on your phone and internet radio stations. Your music, videos, playlists and settings stay on your phone. The only things that go online are radio: looking up stations and streaming them. The app has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no crash reporting, and we never receive any of your information.

What the app stores, and where

To work, the app keeps the following only on your device:

This information never leaves your device through the app. We cannot see it. You can remove items inside the app, and erase everything by clearing the app's storage in Android settings or uninstalling it.

Your music and videos

The app asks to read the audio and videos on your phone (or only the ones you pick) so it can list and play them. It also lets you choose folders and files. They are played from your phone and are never uploaded.

Radio: the part that goes online

When you open Radio, the app asks the free station directory at radio-browser.info for stations. That request carries the country (your phone's region, or the one you pick) and, if you search by genre or name, the genre or search text. Like any website, the service also sees your phone's IP address.

When you play a station, the audio streams directly from that station's own server, which also sees your IP address. We don't run these services and don't receive this information; each is governed by its own privacy policy.

File transfer and sharing

File transfer sends a song or video straight to another phone running M6 Player using Wi-Fi Direct. It does not use the internet, and the file goes only to the phone that accepts it. To find nearby phones, Android requires the "Nearby devices" permission (or, on Android 12 and older, location). The app does not use or store your location. Your phone also shares its device name with nearby phones while you transfer.

Share, and Back up & restore, open Android's share sheet. Whatever you share (including a backup file) goes to the app and person you choose, under that app's own privacy policy.

Permissions the app asks for

What the app does not do

Android Auto

If you connect your phone to a car with Android Auto, the car screen shows your song, playlist and radio favourite names and cover art from your phone, and can play them. This happens between your phone and the car; nothing is sent to us.

Android backup

If you've turned on Android backup for your device, Android may include this app's saved library and settings in your device backup to your Google account, so they can be restored on a new phone. That backup is handled by Google under Google's Privacy Policy, and you control it in your device settings. We have no access to it.

Google Play

Google Play handles downloading and updating the app, and may collect information as described in Google's Privacy Policy. We receive only anonymous, aggregated statistics from Google Play, such as install counts and crash rates, which don't identify you.

Children

M6 Player is a general-audience media player. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children. Radio stations are run by third parties, and their content is not reviewed by us.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app changes how data is handled, we'll update this policy and its effective date before that version is released.
